Western Command chief visits forward posts in state

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen RP Singh, visited forward posts of Tripeak Brigade today and reviewed the operational preparedness along northern borders.The brigade’s operational jurisdiction lies along the international border shared by Himachal Pradesh with China. A small amount of bilateral trade between locals on both sides is also conducted in the area through the Shipki La Pass during the summer.

The Army Commander took an assessment of the ground situation and interacted with Army troops deployed in the sector, as well as Indo-Tibet Border Police Force troops manning border posts. He appreciated their efforts in maintaining a coordinated vigil on the borders. He exhorted all ranks to continue the strict vigil and take precautions to protect themselves from the Covid pandemic.
